The Gobi Desert and Its Crescent Lake

The Gobi Desert with its golden dunes,
Is the land of swirls, magic and mysteries.
This place, however, holds a secret;
It is expanding, invading despite the fantasy it offers.
Don’t you feel its dunes’ anger?
Don’t you hear the wind sigh?
Don’t you see that it’s tired
Of all tourists passing by?
A crescent-shaped lake,
With its sapphire blue water,
Crescent Lake is a traveler’s oasis.
Long ago, thousands of pilgrims and merchants
On the Silk Road used it before they
Proceed to the treacherous Gobi Desert.
Yet its demise is approaching.
You see, this ancient lake has been shrinking.
