One blogger suggested that using the
iPhone camera app is best because it
produces better resolution than other
apps. Then, you can just open the
photos in Instagram or your choice of
app and apply the effects there. This
advice proved effective for me. Since
Instagram only takes square-shaped
photos, I was able to take rectangular
photos with the iPhone app and then
piece them together in Instagram to
create panoramic images.

It’s always frustrating when your
perfect shot is interrupted by a
swarm of tourists or unsightly
construction. Instagram can help
resolve this through its blurring
feature. You can defocus the
unwanted elements in your photo
so that the areas that you want to
emphasise remain clear and vivid.
for editing and effects. An array of
iPhone accessories geared towards
taking your iPhoneography to the
next level are also available. One of
my favourites is the iPhone case that
attaches to any regular tripod. This
comes in handy if you don’t have the
steadiest of hands and if you like to take
night shots. The disadvantage of the
iPhone camera is that it is lacking in
image stability and it is not as sensitive
to light. Inadequate light and the
slightest movement can result in poor
image quality. Placing the iPhone on a
tripod will help alleviate this problem.
Another accessory that I found
really useful when taking photos is a
ring holder attached to my phone. It
gave me peace of mind by securing
my phone to my hands and keeping
it from slipping off, especially when
I wanted to hold my phone outside
a window or over the railings of, for
instance, Niagara Falls.
