W
inter seemed to arrive earlier than normal in Hong Kong this year – I can’t remember
the last time I wore jeans in November, can you? And those cooler temps mean one
wonderful thing:
Christmas is coming!
It’s time for me to switch the playlist to
Bing Crosby, Johnny Mathis and the rest of the
Christmas crooners
, and start loading up the
sleigh (OK, the suitcases) to make the journey to the US.
To get you into the
festive party spirit
, stylist Ingrid Keneally and photographer Melanie
Adamson have created a truly magical-looking fashion spread this month. I hope you’ll love it as much
as we do. Are you hoping to spread a bit more spiritual spirit to your kids this year? Inside, you’ll learn
how and where your children and teens can volunteer to help other kids who might not have as much
good fortune. And while I would never want to quash any plans you have for
holiday feasts
–
which are, after all, one of the best parts about this time of year – new research is showing that a
more
carefully considered diet can actually stave off some cancers
. Learn
what you need to know inside, and perhaps consider making some New Year’s resolutions.
I’m
excited to announce
an early Christmas present that our former
Playtimes
colleague
Vanessa received in early November: baby boy Robert Joseph! Mum, Dad and big sister Penélope are
already in love. Vanessa left our team a few months back in anticipation of Robert’s arrival, and while
we miss hearing her frequent and fabulous laugh around our office, we’re all so excited about her
newest addition.
However you’ll be celebrating this month, I’m grateful that you’ve decided to include
Playtimes
,
and I wish you a very
happy holiday season
.
