t’s October, and that means party time at Playtimes ! We know that you struggle to come up with creative and afordable options for your kids’ celebrations, and we’d like to help. Inside, you’ll fnd lots of ideas to get you started, from party venues to group craft projects to creating a memorable goodie bag .

This month you’ll also fnd a fabulous double fashion spread. Our lovely and talented stylist, Ingrid Keneally, has put her skills to beautiful use, creating a slumber party for boys and a

tea party for the little ladies. Accompanied by the skilled eye of photographer Belinda Bath, Ingrid has designed a spread that’s not only beautiful, but also helpful . Look for it and all the other great party ideas inside.

Some of you might recall that at the beginning of this year we introduced a new offering: the January travel issue. We received such positive feedback from the frst effort that we’re doing it again in 2012. Because so many of you have amazing and interesting travel stories of your own to tell – stories that would be of great help to other families in Hong Kong

planning their own trips – I’d like to entice you to share them with us. Find more details on page 35, and consider telling us your story. You might just see your story in print.

Over the past year, I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with so many of you, if only via email. It’s often through these conversations that new Playtimes stories come to light.
