This month: The Skin Laundry
The down-low
The Skin Laundry offers a non-invasive,
quick laser skin treatment designed
to make maintaining healthy skin
convenient. Its signature 15-minute
treatment delivers deep-down skin
cleaning. It vaporises the dirt, debris,
pollutants and toxins in the skin
and deep within the pores. It's safe,
effective, quick and affordable.
The experience
I was genuinely surprised because it
really didn’t hurt and that is coming
from a big softy! The treatment tingled
more than zapped and because I’d
been warned that the laser generates
a slight smell, I didn’t panic at that.
It really is quick and effective – my
skin was better, brighter, cleaner and
clearer and I felt sure I would book a
return visit.
Feeling great!

Q
As I have light skin and dark hair,
I often want to get rid of hair that
appears in places I don’t want it! What
can you advise to deal with hair on the
face?
A
Facial hair for men is acceptable
but not so desirable for the ladies.
Hormones contribute to growth of
facial hair in women, which is nothing
to fret about and is quite normal.
There are a few methods for facial hair
removal. To be sure of professional help, it
is best to visit your favorite spa or salon to
do this. A safe method to remove facial
hair is by threading. Threading only uses
“thread” and the skill of the therapist.
This is a more precise and defined way of
epilation best for eyebrows, full face and
upper lip. Waxing is another way of hair
removal, but since the skin on
our face is more delicate and the
wax is warm or sometimes hot, there
is a risk of burning and skin peeling.
However, waxing is generally less
painful than threading. I would say
threading or waxing are your safest
bets. You might want to try both
before you decide which best suits
you and your skin.
