Too cool for
school
Even with daughters wh love to have their hair done, it is often impossible
to find the time in the morning rush to manage anything more than a
ponytail. Here are three of
Anna Treier’s
favourite, beautiful hair styles:
1
Fishtail braid looks elaborate
but is good for the morning
rush. This style looks great and
can last the whole day.
1
Use a wide-tooth comb to detangle
the hair. Divide the hair into two
equal sections at the nape of the neck.
Divide the ponytail into two equal
sections, right and left. Hold the right
section with your right hand.
2
Using your left hand, take a thin
strand of hair from the outside of the
left section and cross it over to the
inside of the right section, now holding
that section with your right hand. You
should now have two sections again;
the left (missing that strand of hair),
and the right with the strand you just
incorporated. Pull the braid tight.
3
Now hold the left section in your
left hand. Use your right hand to pick
up a skinny strand of hair from the
outside of the right section and cross
it over to the inside of the left section,
now holding that section with your
left hand. Again, you’re left with two
sections. Pull tight.
4
Continue picking up small sections
from the outside of one section and
joining them to the inside of the other.
Once you get into a groove, it’s easy!
When you reach the end, secure the
braid with a ponytail holder.
2
Flip Tail is the easiest style to
create. You will never be late
for school!
1
Gather the hair into a low ponytail
at the nape of the neck and secure it
with a ponytail holder.
2
Then push the band down slightly to
leave two or three inches of hair above
it. Using your pointer and middle
fingers, make a hole in the middle of
the hair above the ponytail holder.
With your other hand, flip the end of
the ponytail under and up through the
hole. Slowly pull the ponytail through.
If the ponytail sticks out from the head
too much, gently pull the holder down
farther to relax the style.
3
Brush the ends of the flip tail
smooth.
3
Basic Bun or the Ballet Bun
is a clean look and a no-fuss
hairstyle.
1
Gather the hair in a loose ponytail.
2
Position the ponytail where you
want the bun to be on the head: low at
the nape, middle of the head, or high
on the crown. Secure with a ponytail
holder. Twist the ponytail into a tight
rope, coiling it around itself at the
base. Tuck the ends of the coil into the
ponytail holder at the base.
3
Then secure the bun by pushing
bobby pins into the hair at the bun’s
base on all sides. The thicker the hair,
the more pins you’ll need. Lightly
spritz the bun with hair spray to lock
in the style.
