he English-born owners of this
village home, originally from the
Netherlands, met and married on
the other side of the globe, in New
Zealand. The couple, who have always
loved travel and living abroad, began
a love affair with Hong Kong when the
husband’s frenetic working life delivered
them here a decade ago.
With young children in tow, they first
chose Repulse Bay on Hong Kong’s
Southside, because “Everything for
work and play was within easy reach,”
but after a while the couple started to
crave a more village life for themselves.
Their search included a stint at Stanley,
with all its seaside serenity and bustle
of the nearby markets. During this time,
