Playtimes June 2015 - page 6

M
y dad is a (mostly) wise (and a little silly) man; he always has good words of advice and
support. We also share a love of running, poetry and music.
Everyone has a
different relationship with their father
– things they like to do together,
talk about together, or simply share memories – but it’s fair to say that many of us really
believe that ‘Dad’s the man’. As it’s
Father’s day this month
, we decided to take a look at some of
the struggles and accomplishments of some of the great fathers we have here in Hong Kong.
This month we cover fathers who manage to build
close and meaning ful relationships
with their offspring, while being in jobs that take them away physically from the family home a great deal; we
hear about a dad who left his home in India to set up a successful business here in Hong Kong to support
his wife and family; dads who give up their spare time to
coach our kids
explain why they get involved;
we learn about the latest developments in the
world of male beauty
and how single fathers go
about
searching for love
.
As the summer holidays are fast approaching, we’ve also pulled together our updated, invaluable
guide
to kids’ summer camps
again this month, so that you can be confident you will find what is right
for your son or daughter this summer.
Happy reading!
