If the family has a favourite place to congregate, it’s in the
living room. Think large comfy sofas in taupes and creams, with
built-in bookcases all designed by Brittany. However, for the
homeowner, her go-to space in the apartment is the kitchen.
Grey modern cupboards, yellow walls that bring a pop of
colour, and grey and white striped blinds create an elegant
backdrop.
Brittany gets pleasure from balancing furniture from both
antique and contemporary sources. She cleverly mixes pieces
they brought with them from the States and a selection from
Horizon Plaza in Ap Lei Chau collected over the six years they
have been in Hong Kong. Brittany has created a cosy and
tactile home in warm hues of caramel and beige, giving the
apartment a sense of calm and casualness. But when asked for
her favourite piece of furniture, Brittany doesn’t hesitate: “Our
piano – music is a special part of our family life.”

classic design books that her mother gave her that she tends to
go back to all the time.
Inspired by where they live and what it has to offer for their
children, Brittany confirms why after two years of living here
they definitely call this home. “We love that Discovery Bay offers
plenty of open green space and the beach, and room for the
children to scooter and bike around.
Our living and dining areas have windows
exposed to the green mountainside we live
next to and it’s a very serene feeling.
