his month we
celebrate Chinese New Year
– and we get ready to welcome the
year of the smart, quick-witted and optimistic Monkey. I hope you manage to make the most
of the
parades, fireworks and dragon dances
this month. If you haven’t
made it to the parade before, you are in for a classic and colourful treat filled with floats,
marching bands, troupes of acrobats, lively dragons, traditional Chinese dancers, international
participants from all over the world, drummers, Chinese lions and, of course, firecrackers.
It might be cold outside, but we are feeling warm and fuzzy inside. As this month also marks
Valentine’s day
, we’ve dedicated this issue to
all the things we love
, whether it's getting out
for a romantic date with our partner, earmarking time for ourselves to meditate, hitting the best coffee joints
in Hong Kong with our best mates, bonding with our children or hitting the trails for a wonderful family day
out. Sadly, things don’t always go as we plan, so we are also giving the lowdown on what happens

fades
, and you decide that divorce is the best option – what to do and who to speak to here in Hong Kong.
But the New Year brings a new start and new beginnings so there is a lot to be cheerful about.
