Nicola Burke
Nicola grew up in London and caught the travel
bug from her globetrotting parents. At night, she
pored over an atlas, plotting adventures and
learning capitals of the world (still a party trick).
After graduating (with a geography degree!) she backpacked
around Europe, the Americas and Asia. When money ran out, she joined
a global management consultancy and spent most Monday mornings at
Heathrow. One day, her boyfriend’s job relocated them to Tokyo. After three
years of head-hunter by day and karaoke by night, they moved to Hong Kong.
Six years later, her sushi obsession is now a dim sum addiction. She hopes to
pass the travel bug to her own two children (Daisy, aged four, and Sky, aged
two) and writes kids’ travel advice at
.
Aimee Knierim
Aimee grew up in the countryside outside of
Seattle, where she frequented the local dairy
farm to play with the baby calves; enjoyed inner-
tubing down rough rivers; hiked mountains without
trails and camped under the open stars. Her teen
years took her far from these experiences while
working as an international model in the big cities of Europe and Asia. After
years of enjoying living out of a suitcase, she yearned to go to university and
eventually earned a master’s degree in nursing. This led to a most satisfying
career in midwifery. As a professional photographer, Aimee combines skills
from both modelling and nursing to capture the magical moments of little
ones! She’s now content being both a city person and a country person and
divides her time between Mallorca and Hong Kong.
