2014 marks a major milestone for the YWCA with their new
Centre of Learning and Life Enhancement
(CLLE). The English
Speaking Members Department and the Membership Affairs
Department, which have served the expatriate and local
communities respectively for decades, have combined into
one unit. The CLLE will be the one-stop service provider for all
continuous learning needs, with a full spectrum of educational
and learning services for pre-schoolers, children, adults and
retirees. It’s centrally located and offers a variety of courses,
talks, outings and events each year for the whole family. For

New kindergarten
ESF Educational Services Limited
(ESL), an affiliate of the
English Schools Foundation, is delighted to announce
the planned opening (in August 2015) of a fifth ESF
International Kindergarten in The Visionary – their first
in Tung Chung. Building on the success of ESF’s four
kindergartens, the new site will provide high-quality
English-medium education for children aged three to
five. Equipped to the highest standards, the kindergarten
will educate around 360 young learners in a spacious,
interactive learning environment. Applications for K1 in
the 2015-16 academic year will commence in October

The Story Stage Book Club
is the ideal platform for young children (aged five to eight) to
really get to grips with books. Leading the reading of a few books a term and covering a
variety of age-appropriate topics, they’ll explore new themes, develop vocabulary, and
introduce discussion and debate to help children form their own opinions and construct
a synopsis of the book. Role play is used to cement comprehension and practise forming
more complex stories. Like Story Stage, the book club is fun, lively and challenging. Classes
