You need to deal with your hair, and
sometimes “fast” is winning the battle
over “stylish”. Here are my tips for
achieving both.
Ease up on the shampooing
. There’s
no need to wash your hair every day,
and doing so is likely to strip your hair of
its natural oils and cause damage.
A bit of natural oil in your hair helps your

Mornings are always a struggle.
By the time I get the kids ready for
their day, I’ve only got a few minutes to
get myself together. Do you have any
tips for looking good fast?
A
Yes! Here’s your way to a five-
minute face:
• Combine equal parts moisturiser and
foundation and apply it all over your
face. You’ll get perfectly moisturised
coverage in almost no time.
• Then grab a highlighter and, using
your ring finger – because other fingers
are too strong and can stretch the
delicate, wrinkle-prone skin – apply a
touch on your brow bone (just under
your eyebrow), down the top of the
length of your nose, and on your crow’s
feet.
• Next apply black, quick-dry eyeliner.
• Now apply blusher, which gives you a
bit of colour. Bronzer, if you have time,
is also helpful to shade areas you’d like
to downplay (like a double chin, for
example).
• Finish your look with lips: Anything from
a natural gloss to a bright colour works,
but the trick is getting good enough to
put it on and reapply throughout the
day without a mirror.

MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter
This pen-style highlighter adds a
soft sheer wash of colour to the skin.
Precision application allows you to
add radiance just where you want it.
If you’ve never used a highlighter, I
recommend heading to any MAC
counter and asking their make-up
artist to teach you exactly how to
use it – advice is free! Once you get
the hang of it, application is quick

ponytail look sleek. If it seems a bit
too
oily, but you don’t have time for
a wash, you can add hairspray or
gel to really lean into the sleek look.
Or, opt for a dry shampoo instead,
in between washes. Just spray it
in, brush it out, and you’ll get style
with volume. Try to train your hair to
go three or four days in between
washes.
Vary your ponytail
. There are so
many ways to make a ponytail: high,
low, side – there’s no wrong way
to do it and nothing is easier when
you’re in a hurry. If we take a cue
from Hollywood, your ponytail can
even be messy. The secret to a great
messy bun or a messy pony is to let
the hair fall out a bit on the sides.
You can also accessorise your
ponytail: clip a bit of bling or a
flower next to the elastic you used to
make the ponytail. Hair bands are
big at the moment, too, thanks to
