W
e have come here to colonize this land!” cried three men. Their voices echoed in
the distance.
“There’s no one here! What are we going to colonize?” said one of the three.
They could still hear their voices from afar.
“Where are we, exactly?”
“Let me check my GPS. It seems like we’re in the middle of the Gobi Desert.”
“What? A desert? Is this the right coordinates?”
“Yes, it is. But why would Mother send us here?”
“I don’t know. Let me call her.”
No reply.
“That’s odd. Maybe we just have to wait.”
They took shelter in their cramped little spaceship to avoid the harsh climate in the desert.
Although their exoskeleton could protect them from extreme weather conditions, not even it could
withstand the gushing winds and scorching heat in the Gobi Desert. They sent out a distress
signal in hopes of contacting Mother and finding out what went wrong.
Days had passed. Soon weeks.Later months.Still no reply. They waited for many more days,
many more months. Nothing. At last they could wait no longer. They decided to take initiative.
They began to trot along the desert, abandoning their spaceship. We are helpless, they
thought, no one will get us out of this hell but ourselves. The only question is, why. Why did they
abandon us? Why did they not respond to our calls? Perhaps something went wrong up there.
Perhaps something went wrong with Mother.
With that in mind, they were more determined than ever to get out, to save their Mother, from
whatever was jeopardizing her safety, to get her out of harm’s way. The first thought that occurred
to them, was to search for civilization. Only with the help of humans and their technology,
combined with theirs, could they achieve their goal.
But almost immediately, they were greeted by a massive mountain range, with no way to go
around, and no way to go through. The only method was up and over.
Their sticky fingers and toes really increased their grip. The climb up the first few hundred
meters was a piece of cake. But as the mountains grew steeper and steeper, the trio started to feel
the pressure.
“Ah!” cried one of them desperately.
It all felt like in slow motion. He accidentally grabbed onto a loose boulder, and was now
plunging to his death. It would have been a long drop, his comrades tried to reach out and grab his
hand, but in vain. Fortunately, thankfully, he, in one of his final attempts to grab back onto the
face of the mountain, successfully steadied himself and the danger was finally averted. It was just
a small inconvenience to their journey, but they had learned to be careful on the way to the top.
At long last, after an agonizing 3 hours, they had finally reached the top of the mountain.
They all sighed in relief. They looked at each other, then they looked out into yonder. They felt a
strange sensation flowing in their hearts. They didn’t take the time to admire the view, for they
hadfound what they were looking for. Human civilization.
