you start packing your bag because in three day time you are going to go back home”. Lihua
completely froze, She did miss her family but she loved it here. She did not want to go.
Lihua spent the rest of her three days giving thank you letters to all her friends and Hazels
family and visiting all the places she went to and of course buying souvenirs for her family.
Lihua also realized that her suitcase was way bigger than before. She knew that she had a lot of
adventures to tell to her family.
It was the day that Lihua dreaded the most, going back home. Lihua hugged Hazel’s family
and she did cry a bit. They took a cab to the airport. There Lihua saw a quote on a bus that
changed her point of view forever from someone called Coco Chanel, “ a girl should be two things:
who and what she wants to become”. That one sentence changed Lihua forever. She now realized
that home is where family is, not where there is glamour. She started to recall old memories of her
family. “Not ever am I going to call my home a dump again!!!!!” thought Lihua.
This time when Lihua boarded the plane, she did not feel scared at all in fact, She felt very
safe and secure. She got used to all the moving pictures and all. She kept repeating that quote in
her head, “a girl should be two things: who and what she want’s to become”.
When they reached, Lihua was greeted by a huge hug from her father; Lihua thought that oh,
it’s so good to be home. She was fed at least 5 bowls of just cooked mutton. Lihuas family was
shocked to see that Lihua had gotten gifts from America, a mini makeup set for Mei, a hand-
woven coat for her mother and a big camera for her father. Lihua was sad to see Hazel go but she
remembered her quote and felt good again.
Back in her ‘hell’ she started looking at things with a new perspective. Waking up early on a
cold, cold morning, finding a scorpion on her bed, taking care of the animals, cleaning their dung
and of course her job as a tour guide- all didn’t look so bad after all. That’s what made her who
she was. Her hell was slowly turning into a ‘heaven’.
Hazel did visit her Lihua a lot. Lihua’s dad took a lot of pictures with his camera, Mei looked
really good in her new makeup kit and her mother wore her coat all the time during the cold days.
Lihua always remembered the quote “a girl is who and what she wants to become”.
