owadays, every people should know The Great Wall in China. It is a long story from its
start to now. So, this story will explain it to you.
A very long time ago in a palace, very far away… the first king of the Qin Dynasty
said, “I want the young and strong ones in the city to go and build The Great Wall.”
“That should be a strong fortress to defend our homeland,” he added. So his soldiers
reported this great but tragic news to the citizens, “All of the strong men will now go to build The
Great Wall.” “When will they come back?” “I don’t want to lose my darlings!” the citizens shouted.
“They won’t come back until it’s finished,” one of the soldiers replied.
Meanwhile, some of the smart men refused this plan. “It will simply waste our food and bricks
that can make money.” Soon the others joined them, and the palace was crowded with people that were
wise. The king was angry. He ordered his soldiers to bury these people into the sand, without
giving his worse solution a second thought. After a few minutes, the wise men were all buried in the
sand, and the palace’s entrance was completely empty.
A few decades later, the king died, and the citizens quickly teamed up and defeated the Qin
Dynasty. Their leader was now the king of China now.
In 1937, the Japanese Empire invaded China by making an excuse of a soldier lost, and the battle
began. The entire battle actually lasted nearly eight years. Some citizens joined the Chinese Army
and were determined to defend their homeland as long as possible. They also used The Great Wall as
a large fortress to cut down Japanese Soldiers. Finally, they won the war by agreeing the support and
help by the United Nation, and China is free.
Now, we can visit The great Wall as a heritage. We can also get that it is 4,660.28 miles long
there. But according to its history, don’t you think it’s an interesting story?
