I
was walking on the desert. The weather was scorching hot and my body was dripping with
sweat. Hot wind was parching me. My legs were heavy as if I was carrying an gigantic rock
on my back.
‘……why...I’m…here..?’ Hotness and fatigue made my head could not work well. Lacking of
strength, I could not walk any further. I fell on the sand and I closed up my eyes.
Today when I was walking back to home, I found a DVD box near the door of my home.
’What’s this?’ I picked it up and looked at the cover. It was printed with beautiful picture which
had attracted me so I brought it home and saw what it is. I quickly ran to my room, turned on
the computer, insert the DVD. The program was run, a big title appeared on the monitor. It was
written ‘Adventure of Desert’. ‘A RPG(role-playing game)? I love RPG,’ I muttered to myself and
clicked on the ‘start’ button.
All of a sudden, the monitor gave out a bright light. The light bathed over me. I could not
open my eyes. When I could open my eyes, I was in a desert. ‘……..’I was speechless. It was
impossible, illogical and unreal. How came I could be in a desert? I could not believe. However,
the hotness and feeling of breeze reminded me that I WAS IN A DESERT. I felt hopeless. My mind
was in chaos. ‘What should I do?’I asked. Of course, no one answered. I tried to think what had I
done before I was in the desert. Obviously it was the game disc, I reached to a conclusion that was
irrational. That was I WAS INSIDE THE GAME. If I was in the game, then maybe I could return
home as I cleared the game. The conclusion strengthened my courage, I tried to explore the desert
and found if there any NPCs(non-player characters) around. The result was I fainted.
I woke up in a tent. It was decorated with special patterns, just like those on minority
nationality crafts. Someone realized I had woken up and entered the tent. ‘You feel better now?
NERGÜI, ‘A muscular young man who dressed in strange cloth said. There was a name above
his head stated’ NARANBAATAR ’.’I am already fine now, thank you for saving me,’ l tried hard
not to stare at the name and replied. Then I realized a question, ’wait, what did you called me?’
’NERGÜI,’ he replied me and looking at me strangely. ’What’s wrong with you? Are you really
ok?’ This was a role play game, the game might give me identity. This man might be my friend or
brother. ’If you still feel sick, don’t go with us,’ he said. ’No, I am all well! I would go with you!’
I replied immediately. Although I didn’t know where he went and who ‘they’ was, I should follow
them as it could be an important event. ’Ok, I know you has waited for this chance for a long
time,’ he smiled and threw a bag to me,’ I had helped you sort out your luggage, pick it and come
with me.’ He left the tent. I got up from the bed, pick up the bag and followed him. We went to
a place where many people were gathering. Most of them were men. ‘NARANBAATAR, Why so
many people gathering here?’ I asked. ’We have to first gather, then go to find that olgoi-khorkhoi
and kill it.’ He replied. ‘olgoi-khorkhoi’ rang a bell,I had heard this name before but I could not
remember what it was. ’mm...’I nodded. Soon after, everyone was here and we began. We rode
on camels and started searching it but we could not find anything. Around sunset, we stopped
searching and prepare for night. NARANBAATAR told me that night in desert was extremely cold
and windy so we must prepare for it. After dinner, some of them went to sleep and some of them
had to patrol around. I and NARANBAATAR had to patrol. At first, NARANBAATAR let me slept
