Walter who lived in Mongolia was a poor boy. He was an orphan when he was three years
old. He could not remember his parents because of his young age. He was finally adopted by an
old woman called Samantha. Despite this, Samantha loved Walter very much as her own son.
Although they were not wealthy, Samantha worked hard to earn money so that her son could
study at school. Nevertheless, Walter cherished this rare chance and studied hard. Furthermore, he
got scholarship to repay his adoptive mother .They lived happily in spite of poor living condition.
But nothing lasted forever.
Until Walter was nine, his life had a big change. Samantha was getting unhealthier owing
to her old age and over fatigue. Her body was getting weaker recently even she could not walk
normally. Walter finally could not resist and asked his adoptive mother ‘Mum, how are you? You
look very uncomfortable. ‘Son, I am fine. You just need to study hard. Don’t worry!’ Samantha said.
Nonetheless, Walter had no response after hearing his mother’s reply and he still worried his mother.
One day, Samantha went out. Walter worried his adoptive mother and followed her. Suddenly,
she entered a clinic and Walter followed her certainly. Then Samantha entered a burial room.
Walter could only hear what the doctor said outside the room, ‘Mrs. Samantha, your body
is getting worse. You are suffering from gastric and you should take a surgery immediately.
Otherwise, your life will be shortened.’ Walter cried immediately.’ I am sorry, but I do not have
enough money to pay for the surgery.’ Samantha said. ‘Take the surgery!’ Walter ran inside and
yelled. Samantha refused but Walter still insisted that Samantha should take the surgery. ‘Mum, I
can stop my study and work outside so that I can save money for you to take surgery. I can study
at any time but your illness must not be delayed. You are my only family. I do not want to live
alone so you must be alive.’ Walter said continuously when Samantha looked like to reply. ‘Don’t
worry! I can take care of myself.’ Samantha had no way and she submitted Walter’s demand.
After that day, Walter no longer went to school. He was looking for work from all places in
Mongolia but no company hired him due to his poor working experience. Finally, he could only be
a cleaner in a small restaurant with little income. Additionally, he spent all money on the surgery
and his house was confiscated as he paid all money for the surgery and had not paid the rent of
the house. Therefore, he could only linger in the street. His life was growing worse day after day.
When Walter was in inclusion on the occasion of frustration, a brutal fact had already come.
When Walter went to pay for the fee of Samantha’s surgery and treatment, the doctor told him
that his mother had already died due to her poor health. ‘Walter, I want to tell you a fact but you
should keep calm when listening. Your mother was dead yesterday as her illness was worsened.’
Coins fell on the floor from Walter’s hand. He thought the world no longer span suddenly. Nothing
