The Peaceful Lamp

am Bo. My close friend is Tin. We were chosen to be the peace warriors by an ancient lineage when we
were born seven years ago.
One night, our Master, Bu Bu, came to visit us and gave us an impossible mission. That was to put a
magic lamp, called the Peaceful Lamp, in the left hand of the Great Buddha Statue located on Lantau Island.
The Peaceful Lamp had the supernatural power to make Hong Kong a peaceful place. Without the
lamp, our Hong Kong city would be full of crimes. However, some bad guys were waiting for a chance to
seize the lamp and destroy it.
Master Bu Bu told Tin that she had the special power to see the golden light from the lamp but
others could not see so; and I had the special power to feel the warm energy from the lamp. Also,Tin could
see the red light from the bodies of the bad guys and I could feel the coldness of their bodies.
Master Bu Bu taught us some magic words to prevent the bad guys from seeing us. He passed the
lamp to my hands and then rode on a huge snow-white lion and suddenly disappeared into the sky of the
Victoria Harbour.
“Amazing! But we have to take a good rest first!” we said together. I held the warm lamp in my
arms and fell asleep very soon. But after a while, I felt frozen and woke up suddenly. “The lamp disappeared
in my arms!” I cried out. “It must have been stolen by the bad guys!”Tin shouted.
It was the next day. Tin said, “I can see the red light of the bad guys near the Shatin Railway
Station!” We then rushed towards there by bicycle.
After arriving at the Shatin Railway Station, we followed the red light and took the train and then
changed to the MTR and arrived at Central Station. We left Central Station but were misled by the red light
appeared at the Peak. We were almost lost in the Candies Land because that place was filled with delicious
candies to make kids forget their tasks.
Suddenly, our Master Bu Bu’s voice in the air woke us up. We realized that we were doing silly
things. Tin told me softly, “I saw the golden light from the lamp in one of the compartments of the Ferris
wheel in Central!” Then we rushed away to the Ferris wheel. There were a lot of red lights which Tin saw
under the Ferris wheel. We tried to sneak into the compartment with the golden light. Finally, we found the
lamp and then ran away to the direction of Lantau Island.
We took the cable car which sent us to Lantau Island. We then put the Peaceful Lamp onto the left
hand of the Great Buddha Statue and saw the Great Buddha smiling to us. We smiled happily together and
said,“Mission is Possible!”
