Black Sea Monster in the Pearl River Delta

orenzo Lau, a six year old boy lives in Lantau Island. He loves swimming in the sea.Today he couldn’t
swim in the Palm Beach because it was closed.The last Sunday when he went to the beach, a police
officer came to him and said,“Oil spilled in the water so you are not allowed to swim today.” He ran
back to his home.While he imagined in his bed how bad the oil spill was, he fell asleep.
He put on his swimming suit and dove into the sea. He swam very far from the shore and there he saw a ship.
He wondered what was in the ship so he swam further and reached it. He climbed up the ship and looked
inside. Just then, roaring sound came into Lorenzo’s ears. On the ship, several men were fighting a black sea
monster with brushes and hoses.The monster looked black and gooey. Lorenzo felt horrified and quickly
dove into the water and swam back to the shore in a hurry. He wanted to tell that he had seen in the ship, but
there was no on at the beach.At that moment, he realized the sea monster was made out of OIL!
Though Lorenzo was scared, he wanted to see the monster again. He picked up a bucket in the beach and
swam toward the ship again.When he reached it, he filled the bucket with water and climbed up the ship.The
monster was still there, but the men were nowhere to be seen. He poured the water onto the monster.When
the water touched its body, the monster cried loudly. Lorenzo was so frightened and jumped off the ship At
that moment he dove into the water, his mother called,“wake up, Lorenzo! It’s time to go to school.”
He woke up and said to his mom,“Whew, I saw a sea monster in my dream and thought it was real. I don’t
want to see the monster again in my dream nor in the sea around the Pearl River Delta.”
