his Grandma everyday. Grandma told him lots of stories. Jennis really enjoyed the stories and his
little eyes would light up hearing about the wonderful tales of people. He always wished he could
go to school like the other children but his parents could not afford to send him as they were very poor.
The window in his bedroom faced a river called the Pearl River. Every day the boy saw lots of people come
to the river, some were fishermen who went out to the river to catch some fish, some people used to trade
things on the banks of the river. The boy had heard a tale from his Grandma about the Pearl River. His
Grandma had said,“The Pearl River is no ordinary river. If you go very deep into the river you will see a
million Pearls.” The boy longed to go down to the river.
One day his Grandma decided to take him to the Pearl River. The boy was delighted. When they got to the
Pearl River he jumped in and had a swim. Then he saw a sudden shimmer in the water. He looked closely
and saw a Rainbow fish, it had all the colors of the rainbow. The Rainbow fish had a golden crown that
sparkled in the light. The boy thought the fish was beautiful. Suddenly, an angry looking Octopus came and
caught her in his arms and started to take her down. The boy was furious and rushed to save her.The

The rainbow fish was no ordinary fish, she was the Queen fish and she had magical powers. She showed the
boy a little silver sphere falling above him. It was a Pearl. Then the Rainbow fish asked the boy to start
digging under the sand. Under the sand was a huge door and next to the door there was a huge golden key.
The boy took the key and nervously opened the door. He took one step forward and saw a beautiful world of
pearls and diamonds. He was amazed at what he saw.The Rainbow fish swam over and rewarded him with
some pearls and diamonds, to thank him for saving her life.“Here, take this boy.Take this to help your
