“What should I do?” I cried in my heart.
My brain went blank. We sent a signal to the control tower to ask for help. We used the
parachutes to try to land on the ground.
I fell on a desert, and I found Kris lying in front of me. I thought he was unconscious. I ran to
wake him up.
Kris and I walked a long way towards the green mountains, in hope of getting help from
the nomads.
At night, we took a rest under some giant rocks. In the Gobi Desert, the weather in the
afternoon was extremely opposite to the weather at night. I was shivering. Kris got a glimpse of
me and then he gave me his coat.
“Oh!” I screamed.
“What’s up?” Kris asked.
“We don’t have enough food to eat and only have a half bottle of water left. We ate and drank
too much yesterday.” I replied.
“When we are starving or thirsty, we will come up with a way to solve these problems. Now,
let’s get tough. Don’t drink the water, except when we are very thirsty,” he said.
In the evening I was dehydrated and exhausted, my throat was like a dried up pond. Kris
seemed also very thirsty. Therefore, we decided to drink the half bottle of water. Kris let me drink
it first and I drank most of it. However, he did not argue with me. He was gentleman.
At night, we were in a cave. I looked at the moon. The moon was round and white. I couldn’t
control myself and wept. I couldn’t hold my tears. Kris sat beside me. He pated my shoulder and
consoled me. I leaned on his shoulder and busted into tears.
Suddenly, I feel something on my back, it is moving. Oh! It is a snake! I jumped and tried to
get rid of it. Kris helped me. It was terrible.
We chatted for a whole night. I started to realize that he was not as bad as I thought. He ran to
his room and bumped into the door when we first met just because he was shy.
After that night, Kris took care of me, we thought of each other. A strange feeling was
growing in me. When I saw Kris, my heartbeat became fast and I just blushed.
We needed to get water and food from the cactuses and oases. We saw many wild animals,
such as black scorpions. I had illusions many times, I saw ice, refrigerators and watermelons, but
they were just mirage.
We were stuck in the Gobi Desert for two weeks. Until one day, I stepped on a necklace. I
picked it up and had a look at it clearly. There was a picture on the necklace. I was in the picture
and my father was standing next to me.
“What is it?” Kris asked.
“I don’t know.” I answered. I was very inquisitive. I put it into my pocket.
When we walked to the center of the Gobi Desert, we saw a castle. The castle was sumptuously
decorated in teak and marbles. We hovered around it. The castle was guarded by a fierce “dog”.
The “dog” looked like a three-headed dog from the novel, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s
Stone”. The “dog” had three heads, eight legs, three tails and a pair of wings. We wanted to go
inside the castle to ask for some food and water from the host. Hopefully we could also call back
to the merchant’s house. We tiptoed past the “dog” and stride to the door of the castle immediately.
In the castle, we saw a wizard. He was the host of the castle. He led us to the living room.
While we were walking towards the living room, Kris and I saw some slaves who worked in the
