them if they need a helping hand!” Fred started to realize something.
Fred knew it was really the time to say goodbye. He hugged the young girl and gave her a
drawing of the night scenery of the city where he lived. He also promised her that he would keep
her “a weak man” drawings as a valuable gift of their friendship. Fred walked out from the cave
and followed the young girl’s instructions to go back to a safe place.
After the Gobi Desert tour, Fred changed his attitude towards this unpleasant modern city.
He now found that even in the Gobi Desert, there was a place like an oasis that could keep one
safe and warm. More importantly, if one was in need of help, there would be nice people around
no matter how difficult the situation was. Fred became more positive-minded and quickly found
an assistant job in a small art design company. Though a small scale operation, all the colleagues
were friendly and the boss also allowed Fred to try out his creativity and imagination. Fred’s
everyday life was now painted by the colors of tough assignments and tight deadlines. When
facing the hard times, Fred would take out the “a weak man” drawings. “We won’t trust the people
outside, but we won’t desert them if they need a helping hand!” Again and again, the image of the
young girl emerged and Fred would immediately be recharged with energy.
