ife is like a roller coaster, like the sand dunes in the Gobi Desert, when you suffer from pain,
there may be another opportunity to cheer you up. When you are suffering from hardship,
that may be have a blessing in disguise. Tragedies may just be the beginning of hope.
I was a successful businessman with many global businesses, every day I worked for
intense many hours on the work. I had to fly to different countries like the US, England, France,
Japan, and China. However, there was one place that made me feel admired that it attracted my
eyes. That is the Gobi Desert. As the largest desert in Asia, I wanted to visit it to discover its veil
of mystery. Feeling excited, I took almost a week holiday and went to travel to Gobi Desert with
my dearest wife and my cutest little son.
Once we arrived, I saw tones of camels waiting for us. My son felt unusually excited.
“What a nice big ‘horse’!”
“Hey, this is a camel, can’t you see the two humped?” my wife said.
It was just a nice view, with a very blue sky and yellowish sand. It made me feel relaxed.
I decided to take a great shot of such a beautiful scenery, so I put on the head and brought my
camera to one of the top of the sand dunes to take a ‘masterpiece’. When I was taking the photos,
a huge sandstorm was coming towards me. I wanted to escape, but the storm came so quick that
my eyes were already covered by the sand.
At that time, what I saw was just yellow. There was no blue sky, no camels, and no people
except sand flying around me. The noise of the wind covered the loud voices of the people there.
The sand also made me feel extremely uncomfortable such that I could not open my eyes. After
a while, the storm stopped. When I opened my eyes, everything had changed. I could still see a
clear blue sky and the sand on the ground, but where were the people and the camels, my son and
my wife?
I started to fear. Despite the beautiful scenery around me, I felt lost and helpless. At that
moment, what I only had in my hand were a hat, a phone, a watch and a camera, without water.
“How could I survive without any daily necessities in the desert? I had no food and water.
How could I get back to the camel site?”
I tried to call my wife and the tour guide for help, but unfortunately, there was no signal! I
thought it was just a disaster. Without any survival experiences, how could I live in a desert? I
tried to walk around and yelled in the silent desert.
“Is there anyone here? I am lost!”
Unfortunately, there was no response. The desert was still silent, and also lifeless. When I
walked for a while, I felt hungry and thirsty, but there was water and food nearby. For me, I was in a
dilemma. I loitered and tried to find the way. Suddenly, I saw a black spot far away from my sight.
“Hey! This might be the exit!”
My heartbeat started to become more rapid and with a great hope. I ran towards the black spot
as quick as possible. 1 minute, 30 minutes, 1hour, and time still passed but what I saw was still a
black spot far away from me.
“Am I stupid? Why did I think that it was the exit? I think I am over-reacting.”
I continued to loiter and find if there are people and water in somewhere else. However, I
