suddenly heard some sound. It sounded like somebody was talking. It is human! I traced the
sound and I finally found a person with a camel nearby. He was pretty unlike the normal urban
citizens; his costume was dark and thick with a furry hat. It seemed that they are nomadic people.
I remember the guide mentioned that there are nomadic people living in the desert. I am just
wondering whether he could help me, but language, maybe a problem. Could I communicate with
them easily? Nevertheless, I made a try.
“Do you have any food or drinks? I am so hungry and thirsty.”
“Yes, I have, here.”
I was surprised. The nomadic people in fact can speak English! He gave me a piece of bread
and a “bag” of water. I was really touched when I received the food and the water. These normal
things suddenly became rare and valuable. He talked to me a lot about his life, his family and his
house. His house in fact was a yacht which could be moved to different places.
“Sir, I am lost in the desert, could you please lead me to sleep in your yacht? I didn’t want to
be homeless.”
“No, I think that is not very appropriate. You can’t do this”
“Then do you know where I can stay temporally?”
“No, I don’t really know.”
My downturned face made that man become embarrassed.
“Sorry for not being able to help you, by the way, I remember that there is a mountain in this
direction, over this mountain, there may have some houses there. You can go and look for that. I
think it just take you around 6 hours if you can walk fast.
“Thanks a lot, bye.”
I once felt that I got luck. But the truth was that it was another tragedy.
The sky started to become darker and darker, and I felt the surrounding becoming colder and
colder, like in a freezer. My legs started to shake and my hands became stiff. In the afternoon,
the desert was still warm, but at night, everything changed. I looked up to the sky. The stars
twinkled on the Milky Way, like thousand little eyes looking at me. Although I was now lonely,
the stars made me feel there was still hope. In the dark, I used the torch from my phone and tried
to search for the way. Suddenly, I heard some noise, and then I saw something with four legs and
pointed ears. It’s a wolf! It immediately rushed towards me, and I used my very last effort to run
away. Later on, more and more wolves were chasing towards me. I was out-of-control and ran to
nowhere. I hope that there was someone to rescue me. I screamed but no one responded. Under
such dangerous situation, I threw my camera into a far distance to entice and the wolves, as the
wolves got distracted by the camera, I continued to run until they were out of sight.
I was finally safe, but nowhere, in complete darkness. I was hungry and thirsty again. Having
fear, an unknown force started to blow me up to somewhere in the middle of the sky. I felt that the
surroundings became extremely cold but also full of dust. I felt my body was completely frozen and
could not move anymore. As time went by, I saw lots of “stars” on the ground. They were in fact
lights. With lights, that meant there were people living there. But how could I get back to the ground?
The surroundings started to become warm and I felt myself falling to the ground at a high
speed. I started to worry about my life.
“Will my life end like this?”
I was afraid and screamed in order to let people notice me. I closed my eyes and stopped
thinking about everything. I thought that must be the end of my life. However, when I opened my
