I see no other reason why he would do it.”
“Yes, Envy, I agree with you!” Sam concurred, pointing at Envy. “He knows what’s up Pride!
Talk to envy!”
“You know.” Lust began, twirling her jet-black locks between her fingers. “I think it’s because
of that woman Pride mentioned earlier. She was a real stunner. If I remember correctly, you had
something for her too.”
“But…”
“Enough of this.” Came a booming voice that silenced all others. Wrath stood up. “He was
obviously enraged. All of what you worthless scum just said only leads up to his enragement of
his life. That is the one and only reason why he would commit such a horrible and heinous crime.”
A million thoughts raced through Sam’s mind. What should he do?”
“A descriptive narrative.” The inspector said. “Almost as ludicrous as Sam himself.”
“I’m telling you that’s all he told me!” Adam shouted, straining against his bonds.
“You and your “friend” Sam have been detained in the desert two days ago and Sam was in a
state of insanity. I need answers”
“Sam ran away!” Adam pleaded. “He came back the next morning muttering pride, pride, pride!”
The inspector stared, a cold stare that made Adams bones chill.
“Enough of this.” He said. “Take him back to his cell.”
The guards on either side of Adam un-cuffed him and brought him to his feet.
“Wait!” Adam called as he was slowly dragged out of the interrogation room. “He also said
“Pride was the cause! Pride was the cause!”
The doors slammed shut and the inspector was left alone in the interrogation chamber. Pride.
He thought. Pride.
“You know you’ve got to stop thinking like that!” a voice from behind him echoed.
The inspector spun around and in front of him stood a man wearing a black tuxedo. He wore a
bowler hat on top of his oily hair.
“Sit,” he said motioning towards the chair previously occupied by Adam. “Allow me to
introduce my, uh, accomplices…”
