In The Gobi Desert

O
ne boiling, sunny day in the Gobi Desert. The sun beats down onto the scorched sea of
sand. It is merely impossible for life to live here. But what is lurking under the parched
earth? A jerboa pops its little head out of the sand. The jerboa scurries along the sand
in search for water. He loses hope but then. Suddenly he hears a deafening call of a
golden eagle. The jerboa hops for his life but it is no use, the eagle catches him and pins him
down by the tail,
“Got you!” shouted the eagle.
“For a second there I thought you were going to eat me,” panted Jerry (the jerboa’s name).
Frank, the golden eagle led Jerry to an oasis where they could get a drink. They guzzle down the
water like rocket engines. They stared at the beautiful river of diamonds,
“I feel much better and refreshed,” utters Jerry happily.
The ground starts to shake and a deafening roar is heard. Hundreds of trucks zoom by the two
animals. Frank almost got crushed to a fine pulp by a forklift.
“What are these things?” asks Jerry in confusion. Suddenly the door of a shiny black car
swings open and a tall man in a suit swaggers out of the car. He gets out a metal detector and
hovers it over the ground. Then he calls some people with drills and pickaxes, to start digging
here and there.
“What is he doing?” asks Jerry.
“I do not know,” replies Frank. Suddenly there is a gigantic explosion and Frank and Jerry are
blown off their feet!
“Ahhhh! What was that?” screamed Frank. Jerry was frozen stiff like “mice cream” or a mouse
cold as ice cream on a cone. Little did the animals know that the explosion left a gigantic crater in
its wake. The deafening sound of drills and pickaxes filled the air.
Later that night, Jerry and Frank told all their friends about what had happened earlier that day.
“It was like the Earth was going to crack apart!” shouted Jerry.
“This is really serious.” said Walter, the wolf.
“What are we going to do about this?” said Bill the bear, one of the fifty brown bears left in
the Gobi Desert.
While all the animals are in their slumber, a dinosaur appeared to Frank in a dream. It
had huge feathers on its arms and head and razor sharp teeth like knives. A looped claw was
protruding out of its foot like a sword.
It said, “Frank, do not be afraid. I am your ancestor, Bob the Linheraptor.”
“Who are you? I have not seen any dinosaur like you.”
“I have recently been discovered by scientists in the Gobi Desert. You can check Google if
you like. I have come to tell you that only you, Frank, with the help of your friends can save the
Gobi Desert from the miners. They will use up all of the desert’s precious metals by digging and
destroying it. They will also kill everyone living here even you and your friends. Finally they will
make the air very polluted because of all the smoke from the cars and trucks. You have to contact
