he moment I opened my eyes, I was shunned by the hostile sunlight. Where am I? I
thought to myself. This must be a dream. In a desperate effort to take a look at my
surroundings, I craned my neck back. All I could see was sand, miles and miles of it. My
whole body ached I found myself covered in bruises. My expensive clothes were ripped
and dirty that they looked like a few pieces of mere rags. I ransacked my brain for instructions on
how to survive. Luckily, my solicitous mother had forced me to take the S.O.S emergency class so
I knew a few tips on how to survive in these situations. The biggest danger was exposure, to the
sun and cold. The first thing I needed was shelter. I struggled to stand up and limped across to a
huge slope. I looked down and saw the plane I had been on. So this isn’t a dream. Reality hit me in
the face like a football. In order to shield my head from the sun, I took the remains of my shirt off
and wrapped it around my head. I stumbled over to a small area where it had shade. I could now
feel the thirst acting out. My throat burned and my feet, OH MY FEET, they were red and boiling.
The blisters looked disgusting and my toenails were stuffed with sand. The sun was starting to
set. The weather had gotten slightly more bearable. I stood up, despite my aching body and started
walking. While aimlessly stumbling around I came across a cactus. It was the only sign of life
I had seen so far. It was getting cold. I took my tattered shirt of my head and put it back on. I
started limping. My feet had worn out. However, in desperation, I ignored the pain, stood up and
kept going. Suddenly I heard a cracking noise. And I fell down. My heavy breathing was getting
lighter by the second and my vision was starting to blur. Darkness consumed me, and I let myself
rest. I closed my eyes and fell asleep, and I knew this sleep was one that would last forever.
