to stay. They got plenty of delicious food to eat, and the orphanage had a lot of money to buy expensive
toys. This was a bit strange, since it was not what Ming had heard about orphanages.
But there was a problem that was not solved – Ming's parents were still not found.
Years passed, and Ming was already an adult. He had learned how to use computers and decided to search
for his family in the internet using some of the many social networks and blogs. He didn't see anything
about his parents but he saw many names that were identical to his father's. “Why do we Chinese share so
many common names?”, he thought by himself. He sighed and carried on reading and reading. It was very
exhausting and made him tired.
Suddenly, Ming realized that someone with his father's name had placed his phone number in his blog.
Amazingly, it was the same phone number the stranger in Sha Mian Island had once given him! Ming called
this number right away, trembling, and then heard the voice of his father. Ming jumped around with joy
and also his father seemed very happy. He told Ming where they now lived and Ming quickly set off on his
journey.
He travelled by train, and it was a long and bumpy ride. It seemed like weeks, when he finally arrived at the
house of his family, but it was already very late into the night. Nevertheless, Ming started to knock the door.
There was no answer. He knocked stronger and even stronger, but in vain. Now he even pushed the door,
and it began to shake... then, suddenly, he heard the voice of his father right next to his face: "Hey! Xiu
Ming, wake up, we have arrived at Guang Dong Station!", Ming opened his eyes. It was like awaking from
a deep dream. His father was bending over him knocking onto the table that was attached to the
comfortable train seat, and gently shook his son by the shoulder, Ming slowly became conscious. Had he
really just been dreaming? He looked down and saw a book called "The Thief Lord" lying on his lap. His
father grabbed the book and closed it: "You can finish reading the book once we have arrived at the
Victory hotel. I know you like the “Thief Lord” a lot. But now we need to get out of the train. Come on!"
