Fiction: Group 2
They stayed together for the rest of the day on the river bank opposite the factory. “Yip, come on!
Swim away before the polluting liquid hurts you again,” Rebecca urged the dolphin. Yip started to swim
away, but then the dolphin turned back and gave such a loud yip that Rebecca had to cover her ears.
Yip flicked its tail in the direction of the factory, and Rebecca saw that the kind-looking woman
had come out of the factory with some workers and they were sealing off the pipe. Rebecca tried to shout
“thank you”, but suddenly the same mist that had transported her to the Pearl River came swirling around
her again. She grabbed her survival bag, and waved goodbye to Yip.
Moments later, she was back in her room again with a smile on her face. Not only had she proved
she could survive by herself, but she’d also made a new friend and a small contribution to tackling pollution
in the Pearl River.
