arry, prepare your passport, we are in a hurry!” Harry and his friends were leaving
London for Japan to join a Music exchange program. “Hurry up!” Mr. Albert cried.
“Can you drive even slower?” He was very impatient. “I am already driving in full
speed!” The driver moaned.
“Mr. Albert is always so annoying,” Andrew, who was one of Harry’s best friends, whispered
to him.
Finally, they arrived at the airport. The group hurried to the boarding gate when it was about
to close.
“Wait! Wait! Don’t close the gate!” Mr. Albert cried. The group got on the plane just in time.
The plane left the runway and the group started their journey. Everybody was very excited.
However, they didn’t know that their death was getting nearer and nearer.
A couple of hours later, the captain announced
“Please buckle up your seatbelts; we are expecting a turbulence to hit within 30 seconds.”
“Hey! Do you feel alright, Harry?” Andrew asked. Harry fell silent. He knew that his sense
was always right; he felt that something strange was going to happen on the flight. Then, the
plane vibrated vigorously.
“Passengers, listen! Brace! Brace! Brace! ” The captain shouted to the microphone. Harry
looked around, nearly all of the passengers were screaming. He prayed that the vibration would
end soon.
Suddenly, the plane was rushing towards the ground directly. Harry called Andrew to
unbuckle the seatbelt and follow him to the nearest exit. Andrew obeyed. When they opened the
exit door, the pressure in the plane decreased quickly. The plane was travelling over 390 km/h
and in 2000 altitude. It was diving vertically to meet the ground below.
“Three! Two! One! Jump! ” Harry cried. They plunged towards the ground. Andrew looked
downwards; he saw that the ground below was a desert! But when he saw what they were heading
to, he gasped. They were falling directly to a lake in the desert!
“Prop!” They fell into the cold water below. They were gasping for air as they swam upwards.
Their lungs screamed for air. At last! They rose to the surface of the lake. They left the lake
immediately. It was freezing! They shivered and crouched on the sand. Then, they heard a big
explosion. When they looked up, they saw a big fire ball, burning in the air! It was the plane! It
broke into two pieces and landed not far away. Andrew and Harry were stunned. They knew that
all people on the plane had died.
It was terribly hot in the desert. Harry and Andrew lay on the sand, resting, neither of them
wanted to talk. A good ten minutes later, Harry broke the silence,
“What should we do? I wasn’t taught how to survive in the desert without adults!” Andrew,
who was still thinking about the disaster that had happened before their eyes, whispered,
“I have learnt a few lessons in the survival camp last year, I hope it helps.”
A few minutes later, Harry said,
“We should start to find a shelter by now. If the night falls, we would be in big trouble.” So,
they got up and started to find a place to stay. However, they found none.
