Fiction: Group 2
I was still finding it hard to breathe. There were a few people standing over me in white coats and
examining me all over. When I was finally left alone I was choking on something down my throat. It was
big and felt like a cylinder. I lay there thinking about my parents and when I would see them again. When I
heard someone get in the pool and lift me up on to the thing from inside the truck and they took me away.
We passed three other pools with animals in there was a turtle, a huge starfish and an octopus. We reached a
building with black windows.
When we got inside I started choking again and finding it harder and harder to breathe. The people holding
me broke into a run and they only stopped when we got to a very light room. I was thrown into a cylinder
that started to move forwards. I shut my eyes in terror and when I opened them people were injecting
things into me and they pulled something out of me. Now I could finally breathe! They showed what had
been choking me - it was a red cylinder with white words on the side. It must have come from the goo. It
was such a relief to be able to breathe freely.
The next day I was let into the deep pool and I lived there for the rest of my life but I would love to be
back in the Pearl River Delta with my family.
