Glenealy School, Huang, Vincent - 8, Fiction: Group 2
housands of years ago, there was no Pearl River Delta. Instead the land was an island with little on
it. This little island had no mushrooms, flowers or trees, but was covered with snow.
Nobody
ever dared to go to this empty island called Ozly River Island. Everyone thought that the second
you stepped on the island, you would
slide down, down, down.
One brave, strong man promised himself that he would go and discover what was on the Ozly
River Island. The next morning, the eager man wore a fluffy, blue coat. After he finished eating his food
and putting on all his clothes, the brave man sprinted to his speedy motor boat. As he was approaching, the
brave man was scared that he would slide down, down, down.
Stepping on the island, he started to slide on some ice. He injured his head and was unconscious
for
one hour.
As he woke up, he looked around, scratched his head, and called, “Hello?”
“Can Man jepum Hello.” answered a stranger.
The brave man asked, “Hello? What language are you speaking? Where am I?”
The stranger then grinned, “Hello.
I am speaking English now. You are at Ozly River. I am very
happy that you are here because not many people come here.”
The confused man said, “Oh, I am Maxy.”
“Hello, I am Tan. You can come with me.”
They both paced across the snowy plains together, but suddenly, there was a big bang!
Maxy looked around and immediately things started to appear - an
airport, bookshop, a mall,
hotels, coffee shops, office buildings, homes, and restaurants.
Out of nowhere, the hotel workers started shouting, “Need a place to stay?”
Tan went running and quickly explained to Maxy, “Bye! I am sorry. I need to fix something.”
“What in the world is going on!?” Maxy thought to himself and stared straight at all five of the
hotels named Oxford, Hyatt, Everbright, Takan, and Pamm. Maxy nodded and quickly decided to stay at
the Hyatt. He checked in at the hotel counter and asked the worker about this island he was on.
The worker described, “This island covers Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Zhuhai. “Here,” said the
worker as she reached in a pile and pulled out a map. “This ought to help you.”
Maxy
settled down in his room. It was very late in the night, so he went to bed. The next day, he
went to the main lobby. The hotel manager, Ola was very nice. Maxy went to the computer and searched
The Ozly River. He clicked on a website:
Maxy thought, “What? There is treasure on this island? The legend on the website said for
hundreds of years, people have been looking for the Pearl Cave Delta.”
