NewTales of the Pearl River Delta

earl River Delta is in Guangdong province which includes Gangzhou, Dongguan, Zongshan, Foshan,
Zhaoqing Huiszhou, Jiangmen, Shenzen and Zhuhai.The weather is the same as Hong Kong and it is
divided by four seasons – spring, summer, autumn and winter. It was very beautiful before but it was
polluted by the factories now.All the workers in the Pearl River Delta were building a long bridge which
would let the cars run across the Pearl River Delta.
One day I was shocked when I woke up. I couldn’t walk but I could swim! I went to the bathroom and took
a look in the mirror. I saw I had a big colourful tail and lots of scales over my body. I felt marvelous and
screamed. However nobody heard me.Then I swam from Sek O beach to the Pearl River Delta. I was
extremely tired when I reached there. I saw that many workers were working hard.The bridge was awesome.
However, it was very noisy there. I couldn’t beat it anymore. I decided to swim to somewhere else.
Suddenly I smelled something strange and started to swim quickly and finally arrived at Guangzhou. I heard
someone singing in a strange way. Oh! People were watching Cantonese opera and eating dim sum.There
were a lot of delicious dim sums, such as buns, fish balls and dumplings.There were snacks too.They all
looked tasty and I wanted to try all of them. I could eat them all happily with my family if there was a spell to
turn me back into a human. I swam away slowly and sadly.
Afterwards, I swam to Dong guan and there was nobody around. I could only see some fish.A friendly clown
fish said hello to me and I greeted him to. I asked,“Is there a witch under the sea?” He nodded and said,
“What did you want to do?”“I was human before. Do you think she could turn me back to how I looked
before?” I asked.“No she is a wicked witch. She would turn you into an ugly fish.”After I heard it, I was a
little scared. I asked him,“Are there any witches that are friendly like you?”There are four kinds of witches
under the sea but only one witch can save you. Her palace was behind the wicked witch’s house.You must be
very careful when you swim across to it.” I thanked the clownfish and prepared to swim across to the house. I
tried my best to swim carefully and quietly. I made it at last. It was a very pleasant place.After a few minutes, I
arrived at the friendly witch’s house. I told the witch my story and the witch said,“OK I can do that”.Then
she splashed some shimmering powder on my body.After a while I found myself in Hong Kong again! It was
amazing! I told my parents about it.They were shocked and they thought it was unbelievable. I was glad to go
back home and we lived happily forever.
