Fiction: Group 2
Ming watched me for a while. I could tell because in the reflection of the Pearl River Delta, I could see her
eyes staring at me. Ming hung the “CLOSED” sign, took a packet of the “Ding Ding candy” and offered
me a piece to me; she kept the packet in her leather pouch. I took a bite of the candy and immediately there
was a force pushing me backward. “Look out!” Ming shouted. The phosphorescent glow began to flash,
opening up the portal. When I was halfway through the portal I could still see a bit of Hong Kong, and on
the other side, my bathroom began to form. In one flash, I collapsed to the ground.
I woke up.
Back in my bathroom I noticed the picture had stopped moving. “I’m home!” Someone was knocking and
yelling from outside the door, so I unlocked the door. “What were you doing in the bathroom for two
hours?” Sam asked. I ignored Sam and ran into my room. I was puzzled and believed that this could be a
one in a lifetime experience, so I decided to write a journal all about it and named it, “New Tales of the
Pearl River Delta.”
