The Adventure In Candyland
Bradbury School, Harvey, Jaime - 9, Fiction: Group 2
ne day, in a faraway land called Hong Kong there lived a boy named Andy. He lived with his
mum, dad and sister. Their house was very close to a river called the Pearl River Delta. Andy and
his sister both went to a school called Brainy School.
“Mum!” Andy called as he walked back from school. “I lost my water bottle at school and I don’t know
where it is.”
“Look for it tomorrow then” Mum exclaimed.
The next day at school, Andy was talking to his friends, Joshua and Matthew. They were talking about
playing football at snack.
In class they learnt about the Vietnamese war, angles and punctuation. The whole
class loved the lessons taught by their teachers.
When the bell rang, all the children excitedly ran out to the playgrounds. Andy and his friends started to
play football. Andy ran a
lot and scored many goals. His team won and they all high-fived each other. After
that, he became really thirsty and made his way to the fountain.
When Andy started to drink, he felt really
cold. He wondered why he felt so cold and he immediately found the answer. He was being sucked into a
portal.
Andy started to feel scared but also felt excited. Suddenly he fell into a tube which leads him to
Shenzhen.
But Shenzhen was much different. The walls were solid chocolate, the benches were chocolate bars, and the
worms were
gummy worms, the trees were cocoa trees and finally the water was lemonade!
Then a gummy bear and an Easter bunny came up to him and said “Welcome to Candyland”.
“Thank you” exclaimed Andy
“My name is Emma” the Easter bunny said.
“And my name is Daniel” said the gummy bear.
“Hi, I’m Andy” he told them, “can you show me around please?” he continued.
“Sure! First stop Burger Palace” Emma and Daniel both replied.
After a couple of minutes, they reached Burger Palace. When they walked inside a bunch of gummy burgers
fell on their head.
“This is Burger Palace” they said
“It is a tradition at Burger Palace that when you walk inside, a bunch of Burgers fall onto your head” said
Daniel.
“Now you know the tradition, let’s move on” exclaimed Emma
“OK” said Andy, still looking around.
“Next stop, Pearl River Delta” Daniel told him
