Anyway, I’ll know the truth tomorrow after meeting it again. Hope that I won’t be astonished
after the truth is told!
18th December 2012
Dear Diary,
Here came the truth! It shared with me all the things about its “Peace Kingdom”. In fact this
Kingdom was located underneath the Gobi Desert. I was shocked to hear this news.
It said it was pleased with its current life. ‘How is your life then? Is it an advanced society?’
‘We don’t have emitting black smoke from factories and vehicles; no sewage and garbage either;
neither having annoying noise from construction sites nor skyscrapers… But instead of these,
there is a green environment full of trees and plants; a clear sea with healthy fish; many open
parks and low houses. Moreover, we live with animals, like birds, poultry or wild animals!’
, it said excitingly, ‘What about yours?’ ‘Oh! How could this happen? I think you will not be
interested in listening to my country since mine and yours indeed have a massive difference! I
really consider yours as a super ideal one!’ , I answered.
‘Oh I see! Never mind. It actually depends on how you view your life. No matter how rich or
how poor, how healthy or how ill, etc. it all depends on your own thoughts and values, right?’
it comforted me. ‘But I was treated badly and being discriminated. I couldn’t find a glimmer of
hope…’ ‘Then you can think of your family, good friends or ones who love you. You need not to
focus too much on the bad side. I am sure that things are getting better once you have the courage
to accept and face them. Nothing is impossible, isn’t it?’
I knew that it was about to leave. I gave it a confident smile and a warm hug, and said, ‘Thank
you! You are such a nice one. It’s definitely my pleasure to meet you. I think I’m going back home.
Take care! Bye!’
Its shadow was getting smaller and smaller. I had an invaluable lesson and it gave me a thought…
