I jammed my leg on the accelerator and the jet roared as it went higher up. The transceiver buzzed
and a rough voice came out from it. “What are you waiting for, you idiot? Fire now!” My dear
commissioner’s barking voice was impossible to ignore.
I gritted my teeth and I forced my finger on the ugly moat-green button. Two nuclear bombs
dropped from the jet. The Natives ran around in perfect circles, screaming and crying, while the
bombs destroyed their home. That’s why I turn down every chance to fly these attacking planes. I
muttered a small prayer and turned the plane around.
“Good work, sweetheart. Tonight’s on me.” Commander Smith’s voice was a bit altered by
the fuzzy reception. I gently landed the jet and exited the cockpit, striding up the path to the
commander’s office. Commander Smith was sitting on his throne, smoking a cigarette.
“So, what’s the occasion? You rarely find me for personal matters.” He twirled his ugly beard
and glanced at me with observing eyes.
“I’d like to quit this foolish game of yours. The government doesn’t recall giving you
permission, and I’d rather be caught dead than get whirled in this stupid mission of yours.” I cut
straight in.
“Ah, my dear Judy, you need not worry. Our defenses here are even better than the whole
of the government forces put together. And, we have you and your little brother.” His grey eyes
glinted with evil excitement. “I so look forward to annihilating our country’s elite squad. Elite,
they say. They don’t who they’re dealing with.” He laughed with glee. “So, off you go. The first
branch of the Imperial Army will be here by tomorrow. That should be plenty of warmup time for
you and Jan.”
I narrowed my eyes. “No thanks. I fervently hope you enjoy disappointment. I’m breaking out
of this aslyum.” I started to stalk off when Smith called out.
“You can leave on your own, I’m sure you can handle that much. But two people will be too
much of a burden. I wonder what will happen if he fails to escape?” I froze at his cold warning.
Jan can’t run, and with him being that vulnerable, he’d definitely be an easy target. There’s no
way I’m going to leave my brother behind.
I lay beside Jan, gazing at his sleeping face. How could we run, when the lower part of
his body is a snake? He would never make to the door without help, let alone out of the base.
That Commander, how dare he inject some kind of potion into Jan’s body, just to keep me from
running. I detest him, that despicable old fool. Then, Jan’s eyelids fluttered open and yawned.
“Morning,” He smiled sleepily.
“Commander Smith says we need to get ready for battle.” I grimaced.
“To hell with him, and I was having such a good dream about him disappearing.” He groaned
with plain annoyance.
“C’mon, sleepyhead.” I helped him out of bed and dragging his gigantic tail behind. I flopped
him onto his abnormal wheelchair and whooshed him to the battle room. The room was like a
white box. in front of us was a head gear designed specially for the two of us for extending our
