Lemar raised his hands up, but that woman was not a normal policewoman – she aimed the
gun at him.
“You cannot win over me. Now give up!” the woman yelled loudly.
Lemar was stunned. He couldn’t believe that the competition could turn out like this, but he
was sure of one thing that one of the rules in the competition prohibited anyone from murdering
another competitor.
“If you dare to kill me…” Lemar stammered, “… then do… it...”
The woman closed her eyes.
A herd of Bactrian camels strolled through and moaned. They were almost extinct, but they
were all in a large amount. Oddly, they were heading to the same direction.
The woman lowered her sidearm. She headed towards the herd of camels to see what happened.
Lemar grasped the chance to escape. He ran towards the helicopter and managed to take off.
Actually, he acquired a license in driving helicopters but he didn’t bring the license of course.
The woman heard the noise of the helicopter and turned back. Oh no! The helicopter was stolen.
“Give me back my helicopter!” she shouted.
The camels destroyed huts and everything, and what Lemar saw was nothing but chunks
of rocks and human skeletons. Something must have happened there that made this village
abandoned. Lemar could see no diamonds and fossils.
A few hours later, Lemar could see roads with cars. He then landed the helicopter and
disembarked. He waved his hands to attract driver’s attention. At first, nobody noticed him, but
then a taxi arrived and picked him up.
“Where do you want to go?” the driver asked.
“To Beijing…” I replied politely.
“A company was shutdown yesterday due to holding a false competition to lure people to join
the competition. It is confirmed that there are no existing diamonds in the Gobi Desert…” the
radio played.
“What?” I questioned.
“I hope you are not the one who got tricked,” the driver said in a friendly tone.
