I
t was a hot and mysterious summer holiday.
The sky was attractively blue today. We cannot find a cloud in this clear sky. During the
holiday, there was no student go to school. Therefore, the school was empty and quiet now.
We could only hear the cicada’s noise.
‘The cicada is too noise, I can’t listen to the TV,’ Sam annoyed.
However, there were 3 students in the school and watched the documentary about the Gobi
Desert. ‘Wow, Gobi Desert is a wonderful place! It is a large desert region in Asia. It measures over
1,600 km from southwest to northeast and 800 km from north to south. The desert is widest in the
west,’ Peter felt interested.
Actually, they were adventure enthusiasts. They became the best friends because of this reason.
Every day, they dreamed they could adventure together. However, today, Jason seems like unhappy.
‘What happens? Jason,’ Peter said, ‘you are listless.’
‘You are clever. Yes, there is a problem in my home. My mother suffers from cancer. The lucky
thing is that she discovers early, but the unlucky thing is that we are poor. We cannot afford the
medical expense,’ Jason wept.
‘Jason, don’t worry. You listen! The TV said that there was a treasure in the Gobi Desert,’ Sam
said. ‘Yes, I have read a book about the Gobi Desert, and it mentions that a rich man stores his

‘The desert is very big!’ Sam said. Then an old man saw them and said ‘friends, it is one of the
most sizeable deserts in the world. In the morning, it is extremely hot and is very cold at night.
Therefore, you must take care of each other, and don’t get lost in the desert.’
‘Thank you, we will take care,’ they said. Then they continued to adventure. As Peter was clever
and read many adventure books, he knew how to live in deserts. Therefore, they can live in the desert.
However, they cannot find the treasure. They have found all the places that they thought
possible. Now they didn’t know how to do. ‘No, we still don’t go to a place, but we may get lost in
there as there is mysterious and no people go to there.’ Sam said. ‘You mean that we may die if we
go to there?’ Jason said seriously, ‘should we give up at that moment?’ ‘No! We have put on much
effort. We should keep going! Jason, your mother is waiting for you,’ Sam said at once. ‘We should
not use our life to do this unconfirmed thing,’ Peter said. ‘We should help our friends! A friend in
need is a friend indeed.’ Sam said certainly. ‘Well…Um…’ Peter didn’t say anything.
‘Alright, maybe, the God can make a decision for us,’ Jason said. Then Jason took out a coin,
and threw it. They all stared at the coin. Finally, the coin dropped on sand.
‘You see! The God wanted us to go and help our friends.’ Sam said happily. Next, they
