New Tales of the Pearl River Delta

ong time ago, there was a school trip to a beautiful place -Zhongshan located in Pearl River Delta.
The trip was for senior primary students from 4 to 6. It took about 2 hours from the school to the
pier of Zhongshan. Susan and her younger brother, Benson who were both Primary 6 students woke
up very early on the day they set off for Zhongshan. They prepared necessary items such as a tent, torch,
blanket, food and drinks because it was a 3-day trip in Zhongshan.
That morning, the school teachers, students, Susan and Benson were well-prepared for the trip and took a
cruise to get there. "It's a beautiful day! “Cheered all students. At first, the weather was great and warm. All
teachers and students enjoyed chatting, playing card games and singing on the cruise. They also enjoyed the
view of the sea. It was calm. The sky was blue and clear.
While everyone was having a good time on the cruise, the sky suddenly turned black and there were lots
of black clouds. Later, thunders and lightning came too. "Oh, my goodness. It is so terrible," shouted Susan
and Benson.
"Calm down and we will be safe," announced the captain. However, no one was listening to his voice
because everyone felt shocked and cried as the cruise was
going to sink. "What should we do?" asd Benson.
"We need to put on a life jacket right now," replied Susan.
Very soon after Susan said to Benson, the cruise was sinking and all the people shouted for help.
"We are going to die. Please help me," cried Benson.
Luckily, Susan and Benson were safe and driven to an isolated island. When they landed on there, there
was nothing but lots of trees and wood near the shore. They were so tired that they found some logs and set
a fire and soon fell asleep.
Everything seemed fine while they were sleeping. All of a sudden, a strange noise woke them up.
"What noise is it?" asked Benson curiously.
"Hey, that's a squirrel," said Susan.
Both of them felt pleased as they soon discovered some other kinds of animals living on the island. "They
are so lovely and we will not feel bored," said Susan and Benson.
On the island, there were a hill and a waterfall. Hence, they could find some sources of food like fish, crabs
and prawns. When they climbed up the hill, they were amazed because they saw a beautiful view of the sea
nearby. Surprisingly, they found a small village at the top of the hill. A crowd of villagers were gathering to
sing songs and dance. At first, Susan and Benson felt great and ran to the villagers.
"Hi, everyone! We were driven here," said Susan.
"Welcome to the island," head of the villagers replied. "Here are some food and drinks for you," a young
female villager said. After they had finished the meal, they soon felt dizzy and fell asleep. Actually, the
villagers were pirates and some of them were even murderers. Both Susan and Benson were in danger.
When they woke up, they shouted for help. They were trapped in a small hut.
"We need to get out of here," said Susan.
"We should get away in the middle of the night when they slept," replied Benson. Luckily, they
successfully got away and ran down the hill. Soon they found a small boat near the shore. They got on the
boat and drove to another island nearby. A few hours later, a container ship passed by and rescued them
from the sea.
"Are you guys all right?" asked one of the sailors.
"Yes, we are fine," Susan and Benson replied gracefully.
Finally, they were sent to the nearest hospital and stayed there for a week. Their parents came to visit
them
and comforted them.
"Oh, my dear! I love you forever!"
