New Tales of the Pearl River Delta

UFO from a faraway planet wanted to visit the Earth. After finding the Earth’s information, they
thought that if they can learn about Pearl River Delta’s economy and technology could save their
planet. This planet has suffered from a loss of financial money and technology and wanted to ask for
help. They sent a distress call to FBI and decided to meet each other in Guangdong.
They met a human named Ah Ming. “Pearl River Delta is famous for having a multi-racial culture and
having a lot of different entertainment.” The aliens went to a spaceship and asked the owner for some
manufacturing tips. “It is usual to buy many different electronic products and a range of other goods. Nearly
5 % of the world’s goods are exported from Pearl River Delta in 2001, with a value of $289 million.”
They talked for a long time. Ah Ming brought the alien to a big drama theatre, it is colourful and big. They
sat on a good seat. Since the show hasn’t started yet, Ah Ming asked the alien about his planet. “Our planet
has suffered from a lot of unhappy things, like the money’s investment always decreases and as a result
democracy revolution often occurs,’ said the alien. “I am the king of my planet and I would like to ask for
your help.’
The show started. Actors started to dance weirdly. Everyone laughed and had a very good time.
After the show, the alien asked Ah Ming to tell him about the transportation of the Pearl River Delta.
“China’s government wants to make the Pearl River Delta even more convenient, so he some railways and
roads were built.
Some people agree, because it will bring them fortune and we can communicate more easily with each
other. But some people disagree, because many transportation projects have low returns. Pearl River Delta’s
economy may also be affected.
“How about entertainments?” the alien asked.
“Take the show that you have seen as an example, it is a culture of Pearl River Delta, many famous actors
are born here,” replied Ah Ming.
“What is the food that we are going to eat today?’ asked the alien.
“It is our famous-dish, Guangdong Cuisine. There are 5457 vegetables, 825 dim-sum at 1937 cuisine food
fair!’ said Ah Ming.
“Wow!” The alien said.
“Are there any weak spots in the Pearl River Delta?” the alien asked.
“Yes, a lot. For example, because Pearl River Delta is the center of China’s four seas, the water is important
to the community. Many trash and rubbish are thrown into the sea causes pollution. The pollution levels in
the Delta are increasing rapidly. Most of the factories run by Hong Kong and China causes pollution to the
Delta.
“Thanks for teaching me, I will tell my citizens and to teach them properly in order to save my world! Bye,
Bye!” And with a whoosh the alien is gone. Ah Ming decided to learn from the alien. He should be eager
to learn and not to boast himself.
He went back home happily and told the FBI the good news.
