his story started from AD1300 and it took place at the southern part of China.
At that time, there was neither Pearl River nor Pearl River Delta in the southern part of China.
People lived in South China had not enough water for living and farming. The climate was hot and dry, and
there was no rain. Many people died because of drought, and it was a large problem for Chinese
government.
Once there were 3 monsters lived in Hong Kong, they lived inside the sea whole day. It was because when
they came up to the land for more than 5 minutes, they would die! These 3 monsters were just liked sharks;
they had horns on their heads. The horn was used to find food and to protect themselves.
These 3 monsters had only one friend, the Killer Whale. He told the 3 monsters, “Hello, my friends! I heard
that there’s a kind of fish in orange colour that is very tasty. They’re living in Macau. Believe me! Even
though I hate eating fish, many of my friends say that they are very delicious. Go there if you have extra
time. Bye!”
The 3 monsters were thinking if they should go to Macau or not. Finally, they decided to go there.
It was a long journey from Hong Kong to Macau. They arrived there few days later. They saw a few orange
fish in the sea. They ate the fish and said. “Hmm. They are very tasty!” Then they saw some fishermen
fishing for the orange fish. The monsters attacked the fishermen and ate their fish. They saw some wooden
houses and a lot of orange fish inside, and they smashed the houses and ate all the fish!
A week later, many people were killed or being hurt by the monsters. The king knew about this and he
decided to send 600 soldiers to Macau to catch the monsters.
The monsters were thinking an idea of how to do their escape. One of them suggested, “Let’s make a good
use of our horns. We can dig a canal through Hong Kong to Macau and finally it reaches Himalayas. I think
the soldiers can’t find us there. I know it is a long way, but if we keep on digging……”
Just then a soldier shot an arrow to the monster but he missed. Many soldiers also started shooting arrows
too. But the monsters were in the sea, they could swim deeper and deeper so they didn’t get hurt.
The commander then thought of an idea to catch the monsters. He said to the fishermen, “Bring your
fishing nets here! Quick! Let’s catch the monsters! We can use the big fishing nets to catch them.” However,
this didn’t work since the monster had horns! They used their horns to break through the nets and ran away!
When the commander was thinking of a new way to catch the monsters, a soldier said, “Let’s put TNT in
the mud and ignite it. It is a yellow explosive. The monsters will be afraid and we can catch them easily!”
Then the soldiers put some TNTs in the mud and ignited them. They really caused a large explosion! At
first, the monsters were very scared but they swam faster and faster. The soldiers kept throwing the TNTs to
the river so as to chase the monsters. More and more explosions made the mud very soft that helped the
monsters to dig the canal very easily.
As the time flew away, the monsters had dug a long canal to the Himalayas. The sea water flooded into the
canal and it became a river. However, before the monsters reached Himalayas, they had been caught by the
soldiers. The king was thinking if he should kill the monsters or not, because somebody said the river helped
