Fiction: Group 2
“You have to search the lands and seas. Or else somebody would have to look in the underworld.” Zhen
glared at the Chen.
“Rise and shine!” smiled Cheung, stretching his arms. He pushed a stone to the floor.
“OWWWW!!!” he whimpered. “MY TOE…” He moved on to the inner cave and saw bones and a skull.
A skeleton! Around the skeleton’s neck was a necklace with a small jar around it. Cheung was born curious,
so he opened the cap and pulled out a small sheet of paper. He read it and it said:
Get out of here now! I was trapped inside this cave so leave as soon as you can! There are wild cats further
inside. Don’t risk your life! That was how I died…
Cheung was an adventurous fellow, so he continued on and was prepared to fight wild cats. He stored some
small stones into his pockets. A loud wail sounded. Cheung shuddered. He drew back his rocks. The wail
sounded again. Only this time did Cheung see a pair of glowing eyes staring at him. He threw the stones
continuously until there were no eyes at all. A cat pounced onto his back, ripping a piece of his leg off.
Another cat jumped onto him and bit his finger. Cheung flicked a stone on a cat’s eye and they rolled across
the rocky floor. Another stone flew into the other cat’s nose. Blood dribbled onto the ground. He turned
around and stabbed into the last cat’s eyes.
However, the cat managed to escape and left the cave. After this challenge, he stayed in the cave day after
day, night after night. His pirate-ish soul remains in the Cheung Po Tsai Cave.
