Pearl River Valley Friends
Shatin Junior School, Lo, Meagan - 9, Fiction: Group 2
ooray! My holiday was finally here! I was going to meet all of my friends! My first step was Hong
Kong, where I found my friend, Ga Lei. There were so many unique places to see. We went to
the Peak via tram and looked out over wonderful Hong Kong. Then we rode star ferry to
Kowloon and back. We saw
the unfinished Ferris wheel. I wish I could have ridden on it. Finally we went to Disneyland. My favourite
part was Space Mountain.
“That was fun,” I said, “But what do you do on a normal day?”
“I go to school, help clean dishes, play with my friends and, of course, I need to do my homework.”
Next, I was off to Macau on a Jetfoil. My friend, Man Jia, showed me the unique places in her city. We
went to stay at the big and beautiful casino hotel and watched “the Houses of Dancing Water.” There were
dancers as well as bikers doing tricks. We visited the Grand Prix Museum which was a motor racing
museum. We also went to the Grand Coloane Resort. It had a swimming pool, a wedding venue and a golf
course. Man Jia’s brother once hit a hole in one! Last of all, there was a breakfast restaurant where we could
choose whichever food we liked! It was like a buffet!
“ The was fun,” I said, “But what do you do on a normal day?”
“ I go to school, help clean dishes, play with my friends and, of course, I need to do my homework.”
Then, I was off to Zhuhai by walking over a bridge. My friend, Xu Long, showed me the unique places in
his city. We went to see the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition. We also played in the
Pearl Amusement Park. It was so fun! It had a roller coaster, water slides and many more fantastic things.
We saw the wonderful and beautiful statue of the fisher girl. At last, we went to the Buddha Temple at
Hengyang Mountain (but we don’t believe in that!).
“ The was fun,” I said, “But what do you do on a normal day?”
“ I go to school, help clean dishes, play with my friends and, of course, I need to do my homework.”
Later I was off to Shenzhen on a bus. My friend, Qiao Yin, showed me the unique places in her city. We
went to the zoo to feed the tigers. Then we visited Small World and played a lot of fun things. The Small
World’s best place was the ice castle! Everything was made out of ice. We played golf at Mission Hill Golf
Club. Qiao Yin plays there every day because there is a competition going on.

“ I go to school, help clean dishes, play with my friends and, of course, I need to do my homework.”
The last place, I went was Guangzhou on a fast train. My friend, Li Ping, showed me the unique places in
her city. We went to see the working factories, Peal River and the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees. We
also saw Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall.
“ The was fun,” I said, “But what do you do on a normal day?”
“ I go to school, help clean dishes, play with my friends and, of course, I need to do my homework.”
Even though each city was different, I had many things in common with Ga Lei, Man Jia, Qiao Yin, Li
Ping and Xu Long. We live in different places but we can all work together!
