Fiction: Group 2
A week after, when Mandy's lump on her cheeks faded away, her parents asked Mandy if she would like to
go on a trip to Hong Kong and visited the Hong Kong Bees Museum. Mandy hesitated a while as she still
did not fond of bees but she recalled the dream she had about why do bees sting and reminded herself of
bees’ contribution to the nature; she then decided and promised her parents to go and see the Hong Kong
Bees Museum.
When they have travelled and arrived Hong Kong, they went to the Bees Museum straight away. In the
Museum, Mandy found a board written with a history about a man who lived in Hong Kong about two
hundred years ago and who was an explorer. He explored about bees around the Pearl River Delta and was
a genius on categorizing many kinds of bees.
He had also written a book about his findings and the book
was displayed next to the board. Mandy grabbed it and quickly scanned through a few pages then walked to
another area in the Museum where showed how honey was produced. Mandy read and found out that
honeybees used nectar to produce honey.
As Mandy walked around alongside, she could learnt a lot about
the life of bee and finally convinced herself that bee was not that bad but was actually an interesting kind of
insects.
Another gain from the trip to Hong Kong, Mandy got influenced of becoming a explorer who would travel
around the world and would explore about bees so she prepared herself a little booklet of the facts she learnt
about bees from the Hong Kong Bees Museum. She also went researching about bees on internet and
borrowed books from her parents and libraries.
While Mandy was having her tea with her parents one day, she even asked her parents if she could visit
some places in the Pearl River Delta, to start with, during the coming summer holiday.
“Sure,” replied her
Mum, almost spilling over her cup of warm-temperature tea.
Mandy explored a lot of things during the trip and became a fantastic bee explorer. This drastic change of
Mandy was being appraised in school as being a good risk-taker; she was not very popular in school and all
friends liked her.
“I am a Bee Lover!” shouted Mandy.
