New Tales of the Pearl River Delta

ello, I am Kelly Fong .My parents are fishermen. My mother is thirty-seven years old. My father
is forty-one years old. They always go to work and do not stay at home. We live in Hong Kong.
It is near the Pearl River. I am eighteen years old .I have a friend who called Jessica. She is a little
dolphin. She is cute and helpful. She always helps me. I like talking to her and playing with her very much.
One day, I was sick of pollution because the pollution is bad. And then there was a flood. It made my
home broken and I did not know what to do at that moment .I wanted to ask my parents for help.
However, they did not stay at home and my telephone was lost. I felt frightened and I cried loudly. After a
while, I saw my best friend, Jessica.” Why are you so sad?” Jessica asked kindly. “I am sick and my home is
broken by a flood. I don’t know how to do. I want to find my parents but they do not at home. I do not
where they are. Can you bring me to find my parents, please?” I replied sadly. Jessica said kindly,”Ok, no
problem! Don’t cry anymore. I will help you find your mum.” “Thank you. You are the kindest person I
have ever seen.” I said. Then Jessica helped me to find my parents and I felt delighted.
On the way, there was the flood so we could not swim in the sea easily. At that time, I felt very
disappointed. All of a sudden, a big bird flew over us. Then I asked it for help. ”Can you help me to find
my parents, please?” I asked politely. Next, she said worried,” No, it can’t. It is because Hong Kong is cold
now. I need to leave here and go to Egypt, so I can’t help you. Sorry. I hope you will not mind.”” Can you
help me for one day? I need your help.” I said politely. Then she promised me she would help me and I felt
excited. Jessica and I sat on the big bird’s body.” Let’s go” I said excitedly.
After that, we flew in the sky to try to find my parents. After two hours, the big bird was tired and we
had a rest. Then we felt hungry and thirsty. All of a sudden, we saw a lot of green apples on a tree so we ate
the green apples immediately. They were sweet and yummy. We enjoyed them at all. Next, we went to the
river which was the nearest to us. They were sweet and yummy. We enjoyed them at all .Suddenly, we fell
down in a swoon. After a few hours, we woke up and we found that we were lost. It was because it was at
night and it was dark, we couldn't see anything clearly.
In the next morning, the big bird said,” I need to leave here. Bye!” I said,” I need your help. Don’t
leave us! Please stay with us one more a day.” Next, she said she will try and we started to find my parents.
We sat on the big bird's body and flew in the sky. Suddenly, the big bird's wings were hurt and there was
blood. Someone had used a gun to shoot the bird’s wings. We all fell onto the ground and we became hurt
too. After that, we went to a hospital together and stayed at the hospital for a few days. During those days, I
missed my parents very much and I wanted to see them.
After a few days, we were discharged from the hospital. We flew in the sky again and found my
parents. Suddenly, I found my parents in a small village and I felt happy. And then, my parents and I cried
because we miss each other. After that, I said to the big bird, "Thank you for your help. What is your name?
Can you be my friend?" "I am Joey. I want to be your friend too!“ The big bird said. “Although I can find
my parents, our house is broken and the pollution of Hong Kong is bad. I am also sick of the pollution!
What can we do?” I said.” Oh, Yes! We need to think about these problems.” they said together and loudly.
I said,” Let us think about it together!”
And then, my mum took me to the clinic and told me to have more rest so that I will get well soon.
Also, we wrote a letter to the government and suggested to them to stop pollution so that the people in
Hong Kong will not become sick by pollution. After that, we even bought a new house which was bigger
than the old one. I liked it very much.
After a few days, I got well and the government listened to our advice and tried to stop pollution. All
the people in Hong Kong thanked us and we felt glad. They gave a lot of presents to us.
Now, I lived happily and comfortable because the pollution is good now. A lot of people in another
place come to Hong Kong because they think that the pollution of Hong Kong is better than before and
they love Hong Kong very much. And, I always play with Jessica. Although I don’t know when will Joey
come to Hong Kong and play with me, she is my best friend. I will wait her and won’t forget her. Joey and
Jessica are my best friend and the most helpful people I have seen. I will not forget them forever.
