The Violent Disease of Pearl River Delta

huck! Chuck! The loud sound made Jack Bae (age 17) rapidly jump out of his bed and zoom to
his parent’s room. Even though he ran very loudly, his parents disregarded the noise and kept
staring at the window as if it was going to break. Jack was seriously shocked at the spectacle in front
of his eyes. Tremendous numbers of boats had exploded. The river didn’t look like a river; it just looked
like a road covered in pitch-black ash.
The Bae family tuned on the TV to listen to the breaking news. 50 boats had crashed and exploded. Oils
from the boats rapidly spilled out and covered the River Delta. However, the most shocking news was that
all of the 50 ships were carrying a harmful disease called D9987. When human beings get infected with this
disease, they become very violent and start to eat other humans; simply they are cannibals. As soon as the
breaking news finished, the family were rescued by the Chinese army and made their journey to Shanghai.
While they were on the helicopter, they saw the depressing sight of Guangzhou. Soon Shanghai was not
safe, the disease was crawling up through the country. Even though the Bae family prayed every night, the
day had come.
On a bright Saturday morning Bae family heard a sound, someone was breaking the door of the hotel room.
With no warning, the door was destroyed and a violent muscular cannibal started to attack. Mr. Bae threw
everything that he could find to fight back, but it didn’t achieve anything. Jack also helped and threw
medicine at the cannibal. Guess what? The cannibal started to melt. Calmly, Jack stated to devise a plan. The
plan was to put thousands of tons of medicine into the river.
By facing his fears Jack arrived at the Shanghai River Delta, making narrow escapes along the way. Spending
the whole day, Jack threw thousands of tons of medicine into the river. However, it seemed to not work.
The excitement was gone from Jack’s face; despair and fear returned. He hardly managed to drag himself
back. Soon, he heard a strange sound. The oil was disappearing! It started from Shanghai, Guang Zhou,
Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhong Shan, FO Shan, Huizhou, Jiang men and Zhaoqing. The awful diseases were
gone. Through Jack’s effort numerous people were able to get back to their lives again and Jack became
inspired to follow a new career…
