Regents Primary School of Shenzhen, Zheng, Jenny - 10, Fiction: Group 2
nce upon a time, there was a fairy. He was dedicated to helping people in need
,
but he never let
others know his name.
One day, he went to a town, and people there were very poor and sad. The fairy looked at this
town and felt pity.
He went to an old man sitting on the side of the road crying and asked him some questions about this town.
‘What happened here?’ asked the fairy. ‘The river dried up, so the government officials decided to fill it with
dirt. If the government officials fill the river with dirt, I fear there will be no water to irrigate our fields. Our
crops will die; if our crops are dead what should we live with, can you help us?’ the old man answered and
asked.’ I will do my best’ the fairy answered.
In the next morning, the old man brought the fairy and went to the government official’s office. The fairy
found an official and asked him to cancel the plan, but the official replied, ‘I can’t handle it, you have to talk
to my boss.’
Few minutes later…
The fairy came out from the office. The government official told the old man that he will give us three days
to bring the river back to its nature states.
That night, the fairy went to Welkin and asked the Emperor for help. ‘You have to find the blue jewel
called ‘Water of The Pearl’, good luck!’ said the emperor of the welkin.
Hours past...
The fairy finally found the ‘Water of The Pearl’ in the back garden of the Emperor’s palace. He felt very
happy. He thought he had to get back to the town quickly. So he flew on his horse through the sky.
When he came to the town, he showed the pearl to the people, and they were very happy.
The next morning, the fairy and the people who lived in this town threw the ‘Water of The Pearl’ into the
river. At this moment, the sky turned black, everyone was afraid of it. Nobody knew what happened. Some
people behaved like monsters, running around. Some were stuck as if they were frozen and some were
crying. Minutes later, the clear water came from the soil, and flowed to other parts of the river. Everyone
was surprised, even the fairy. Suddenly, the river turned the colour of the rainbow. The river looked
beautiful! The fairy didn’t know what has happened. He went to Welkin and asked the Emperor. “Why the
river turned into the colour of the rainbow?” The Emperor replied, ‘Ha! Ha! The river turned into the
color of the bow because it is a magic pearl. It will make the crops stronger and grow faster!
The fairy was happy. He wanted to go back to the town as fast as possible and tell them the good news!
When he got to the town, he was shocked because everything there was different!
When he went to the old man’s house, he couldn’t find him there. Someone was crying and told him the
government official had caught him because he said he was the one who brought this river back. The fairy
decided to bring the old man back.
