Fiction: Group 2
“What do we need to buy, Helsa?” Angus asked.
“No Envelope, Picture–Post, that’s a postcard. Let me buy it in the souvenir section. ”
We were exhausted, so we checked into a hotel to rest.
There were six more places to go, we decided to open all the clues and plan the trip better. The famous
Xiqiao mountain and the art porcelain in Foshan, Zhaoqing’s most popular Seven Star Crags Scenic Area
and the high-quality inkstone, Jiangmen’s Diaolou in Kaiping and the fermented beancurd, the seven story
Fufeng Pagoda in Zhongshan and the traditional lamp, Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Hengqin, an island in
Zhuhai with its delicious oysters, Macau’s most famous landmark, the Ruins of St. Paul’s, and the traditional
desserts and snacks in Taipa were all the answers.
The next day, we woke up early, full of spirit. According to Sabrina’s plan, we had a more comfortable and
convenient trip, we even had time to travel around.
The most exciting part of the trip was the boat tour at Seven Star Crags Scenic Area. Our boat went into a
wonderful cave which had lots of limestone pillars. James wanted to touch one of them, but the boat driver
shouted at him loudly, “Sit properly, and don’t stand up!”
But it was too late; James was scared and fell out of the boat. “Help!” He screamed.
I threw a lifebelt to James immediately; the boat driver used a rope to pull James back. Thank God, he only
drank some lake water and was not hurt. Angus took a picture of this memorable moment.
We all felt disappointed because we couldn’t play at the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, we did not have
enough time and money. We decided to go back to it after this competition. Finally, we took the last
picture with the Ruins of St. Paul’s under the sunset in Macau. Then we ran to take the turbo jet back to
Hong Kong.
At 8:30pm, we departed from the China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui. We hurried to the Clock Tower
with
our heavy belongings. At the last minute, we showed up first, we still had 20 RMB left.
“Yeah, mission completed! Our answers are all correct, we’re the champions!” It was incredible to spend
just 72 hours travelling around the Pearl River Delta.
On this trip, I learnt how to trust and cooperate with others, plan our trip, save time and money. The Pearl
River Delta is a beautiful place, the natural scenery and historical sites attract my attention. Besides, it shows
its modernization with high-technology buildings and highways. It’s really worth travelling there again in
the future.
